Stacking the Fuzz: Loud As Feck SFB-1 + K.O. Amps Foy Fuzz

Guest post by Steve Baric

Two fuzz pedals. Two provinces. Zero fluff.

In this entry of the Great Canadian Pedalboard 2025, we’re showcasing two hand-built fuzz pedals from opposite ends of the country: the SFB-1 from Loud As Feck in Port Coquitlam, BC, and the Foy Fuzz from K.O. Amps in North Bay, Ontario.

These Canadian boutique fuzz pedals each bring something different to the table, and together, they unlock a surprising range of tones.

Loud As Feck SFB-1 (Port Coquitlam, BC)

Built in British Columbia, the SFB-1 from Loud As Feck is a clever, compact fuzz/boost hybrid with a ton of tone-shaping power packed into three knobs and a toggle. It features:

  • Bias control for everything from gated Velcro to open, saturated fuzz

  • Filter knob to tame high-end fizz

  • High-pass switch to tighten up the bottom end for live or stacked use

  • An output stage that can function as a gritty boost or first-stage drive

Used on its own, the SFB-1 is dynamic and touch-sensitive. But put it in front of another gain stage…especially another fuzz…and it gets nasty in the best way.

Why it’s worth your board space:

  • Versatile boost for stacking or solo fuzz

  • Guitar volume cleanup is expressive

  • Excellent pedal for shaping and boosting signal

K.O. Amps Foy Fuzz (North Bay, Ontario)

From Northern Ontario’s K.O. Amps comes the Foy Fuzz, a modified Big Muff-style circuit built for pro skater and guitarist Matt Foy. This fuzz doesn’t do subtle. What it does do is:

  • Rich saturation with clear note definition

  • Octave fuzz top end that cuts without getting shrill

  • Glow-in-the-dark artwork that adds attitude without taking up board space

  • Simple 3-knob control set: gain, tone, volume

Whether it’s riffs or searing leads, the Foy Fuzz brings the dirt and keeps it tight.

Why players love it:

  • Octave fuzz without the mud

  • Huge tone, small footprint

  • Set-and-forget simplicity with killer voice

Final Thoughts

The Loud As Feck SFB-1 and K.O. Amps Foy Fuzz show that Canadian builders are crafting world-class fuzz and boost pedals with unique voices and serious stackability. From Port Coquitlam to North Bay, the tone is loud, proud, and fuzzed all the way up.

Whether you’re a fuzz fanatic or just fuzz-curious, these two deserve a spot on your radar—and maybe even your board.
